Calculus I for the Mathematical Sciences

Course Code: Calculus 1500A/B

An enriched version of Calculus 1000A/B. Basic set theory and an introduction to mathematical rigour. The precise definition of limit. Derivatives of exponential, logarithmic, rational trigonometric functions. L'Hospital's rule. The definite integral. Fundamental theorem of Calculus. Integration by substitution. Applications.

High School Pre-requisite:

  • If you have completed Ontario Secondary School MCV4U (Grade 12 math), enrol in:
    • Calculus 1500A Calculus I for the Mathematical Sciences (Fall Course), or
    • Calculus 1500B Calculus I for the Mathematical Sciences (Winter Course)
  • If you have completed Ontario Secondary School MCR3U/MCF3M (Grade 11 math), enrol in:
    • Math 0110A Introductory Calculus (Fall Course), and
    • Calculus 1500B Calculus I for the Mathematical Sciences (Winter Course)
