Data Science Concepts

Course Code: Data Science 1000A/B

Course Description:

Students will learn how to visualize and analyze continuous and categorical data from various domains, using modern data science tools. Concepts of distributions, sampling, estimation, confidence intervals, experimental design, inference, correlation will be introduced in a practical, data-driven way.

High School Pre-requisite:

• If you have completed one or more of Ontario Secondary School MCV4U, MHF4U, MDM4U (Grade 12 math), enrol in:
  • Data Science 1000A Data Science Concepts (Fall Course), or
  • Data Science 1000B Data Science Concepts (Winter Course)

• If you have completed Ontario Secondary School MCR3U/MCF3M (Grade 11 math), enrol in:
  
  • Math 1229A Methods of Matrix Algebra (Fall Course), and
  • Data Science 1000B Data Science Concepts (Winter Course)
