Adding/Dropping Courses - 2011/2012

February 15, 2012 Last day to drop a second-term half course, or a second-term full course without academic penalty.  WDN will show on your record.

  • Keep your copy of the Add/Drop form.

  • Check your registration on the web in a week or two (Student contents).

  • Check your UWO email periodically for messages.

  • Double check your degree requirements (Program Checklists).

  • Pay your fees for courses added (Student contents).

Please make additional changes to rectify any of the following problems.

  • Taking more than 1.0 course per year at an Affiliated College (Huron, King's, Brescia)

  • Taking senior courses (numbered 2000 or above) in first year

  • Taking too many courses in one subject

  • Taking inappropriate 2000-2999 levels (see the specific numbers needed for your module). For example courses in the politics major must be at least 2200 or above.

  • Taking too many first year courses (max 7.0)

  • Missing the Category B (eg. Arts) or Category C (eg. Science) requirements

  • Missing the essay requirements

  • Missing prerequisites for courses you are adding

  • Taking courses that are antirequisites (e.g. statistics courses that can't both be counted in your program). Examples: Econ 2122a/b, 2123a/b, 2222a/b, 2223a/b; Geog 2201a/b; Psy 2810, 2820E; Soc 2205a; Stats 1024a/b, 2035; Health Sci 3801a.

  • Overloading (max 5.0 per term)

  • Forgetting to drop second term courses if you did not complete the prerequisite.
