Academic Counselling Appointments
If you think that you need a Graduation check, before making your appointment with a Social Science Academic Counsellor please be sure to:
- Check the Academic Calendar (www.westerncalendar.uwo.ca) for your degree requirements
- Run a Degree Audit*(studentservices.uwo.ca select MyPRESENT);
- Complete a checklist
- Check the Social Science Academic Counselling Office’s FAQ site.
(*If the Degree Audit indicates that you have “not met” a requirement and you think that you have, please schedule an appointment with an Academic Counsellor).
If you have concerns about planning your program, before making your appointment with a Social Science Academic Counsellor please be sure to:

Other matters:
- Ask our Academic Counselling Assistants or phone staff. They may be able to answer your questions.
- The Academic Counsellors may be able to assist you with more complex issues by either scheduling a morning appointment from 10:00 to 11:40 am or on a “drop-in” basis 2:00 to 4:00 pm, weekday afternoons. (We start taking names at 1:45 pm.)
Note: During the examination period, the Academic Counselling Office is open and Academic Counsellors are available 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
How to Schedule an Appointment:
►Summer
2012 Session:
Adjudication Period: May to mid-June – limited basis (call ahead)
As of June 21st to September 3:
Telephone appointments: 9:10, 9:30, 9:50 a.m.
Morning appointments: 10-12:00 p.m.
Afternoons: drop-in basis 2-3:30 p.m.
►Winter
Session:
Regular hours:
Morning appointments: 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Afternoon: Drop-in 2 – 4 p.m.
During Add/Drop period:
Drop-in basis 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. and 2 – 4:00 p.m.
** During Add/Drop, Examination periods, and February Intent to Register
counselling will be on a drop-in basis.
Call ahead and listen to a voice message before scheduling an
appointment.
Please Note: Occasionally, Counsellors must attend meetings and will not
be available. If you are coming from out of town, please call in advance
to confirm Counsellors are available.
